Transjurane, Switzerland

The A16 motorway cuts through the Jura Mountains in north-central Switzerland, connecting the Jura arc to the Swiss Plateau via a sequence of tunnels. Photographed along the route: tunnel portals and ventilation structures – concrete forms set into steep terrain, built for function and little else. What draws attention here is the architecture you pass through without stopping.
