Eternal Ice, Bernina, Switzerland
Piz Bernina (4,049 m) is one of the highest ranges of the Alps, covered with many glaciers. The loss of glaciers in the Bernina range since the high point in 1850/60 as the result of global warming means that almost 35 km2 or just under 30% of the then glaciated area has melted. In this work, Sauer Scanderbeg were using the interplay of various factors and several points of view within a framework. In order to reconstitute the landscape, a number of images were digitally processed and combined using manipulation of the perspective presented. A computer model was used to produce a graphic comparison in perspective so as to present the real and the virtual picture.
