CPL Industries, Cleethorpes, UK

CPL Industries is the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of smokeless solid fuels and coal briquettes. Vision Capital commissioned the shoot. The international investment group has engaged Scanderbeg Sauer across several of its portfolio companies: JDR, Bright House and Pork Farms among them. At the CPL Industries site in Cleethorpes, our solid fuel photography focused on the production and handling of bulk fuels. Conveyor systems, storage yards, industrial-scale output. Coal dust, steam, outdoor light: the conditions defined the visual approach as much as the brief did.

Coal dust reaches everything, the equipment included, which limits how often a lens can be changed. The day was planned around that. The CPL Industries solid fuel photography stayed with the daylight on the yards and worked along the conveyor runs instead of lighting them.

Part of our Industrial work.
