.swiss for BAKOM, Switzerland

In 2015 the Federal Office of Communications (BAKOM) commissioned a campaign to make .swiss known to the Swiss public and to Swiss businesses. .swiss is the restricted community top-level domain of Switzerland: an address ending in .swiss shows Swiss origin without ambiguity, and the federal government reviews every application. It administers the domain to protect its value for the Swiss brand. .swiss does not replace .ch: it is an additional address, available only under certain conditions.

The campaign line was simple: if it’s Swiss on the inside, it should say .swiss on the outside. Five Swiss organisations carried the idea, each with its own team at its own workplace: KKL Luzern on the lakeside terrace in Lucerne, the Feldschlösschen brewery in Rheinfelden, Caffè Chicco d’Oro among the coffee sacks in Balerna, Arosa Tourismus at a cable car station in Arosa and Luma in its meat ageing room in Neuhausen am Rheinfall.

For this .swiss campaign photography, we handled both the photography and the CGI. We planned the .swiss letters on location and set them into each photograph afterwards, built as CGI: scene setup, camera setup, shading and texturing, with materials such as concrete and brick.

CGI planned on location and set into the photograph afterwards is part of how we work across very different briefs. For B. Braun’s employer branding, it carried eight employer values across five locations and two languages. The ON LOCATION Journal tells how that production came together.
