Geberit, Lichtenstein, Germany

Geberit commissioned photography and motion for their annual report. The location was their production facility in Lichtenstein, Saxony. Specifically the line where Duofix installation frames receive their blue powder coating. The process moves through a long industrial hall: frames travel suspended on overhead conveyors, pass through electrostatic application and emerge finished. The brief asked for material that works as both still image and seamless loop. A few reportage frames from the broader facility were added while on location.

The conveyor never stops, which is what made the loop possible: one fixed position, the frames passing through the coating zone at a constant rate. The Geberit annual report photography and the motion came from the same set-up in the same hall.
