Swissmem, Association of MEM Industries, Switzerland

Swissmem is the main industry association for Switzerland’s mechanical and electrical engineering sector, representing around 1,100 member companies. The brief: develop a new visual language for the association’s website relaunch and manage the full production. The Swissmem photography covered five member companies. Bühler Group, Datwyler Sealing Solutions, eMDe Blechfabrik AG, MAN Diesel & Turbo and Precitrame Machines SA. Five different production environments, one consistent language across all of them.

The different sites ran from precision machine building through sheet metal work to heavy industry, so the common thread had to come from the lighting and the colour approach rather than from the subjects. That was fixed before the first shoot and carried through all five halls. Across all five Swissmem member companies, the photography kept people, machine and the work between them at the centre of every frame.
