Techmosim, Muttenz, Switzerland

Techmosim has been running mechanical repair and overhaul work out of Muttenz, near Basel, for more than sixty years. Our Techmosim photography covered the full range of what the company does, precision repair included: the workshop floor, the machines and the people who run them. Portraits of a team of around twenty. Documentation of precision repair and custom parts manufacturing, plus video.

The work in Muttenz ranges wider than a repair shop usually does. Overhauls for the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries, one-off parts made from a drawing or from a historic sample, briquette presses serviced worldwide and classic car mechanics. Nothing could be stopped for the Techmosim precision repair photography, so the lighting had to fit around live repairs.
