CGI & 3D Visualisation

Some products require a higher level of technical precision than a camera can provide, and some ideas have no physical form to photograph. That is where we use CGI (computer-generated imagery) and 3D visualisation. The range runs from one rendered product to a full series of key visuals. The results appear in annual and integrated reports, websites and in campaigns.

For Datwyler we developed the image concept and rendered pharmaceutical packaging on neutral backgrounds: vials, stoppers, syringes and ampoules. Clariant’s Integrated Report needed nine visuals of laboratory equipment, product forms and interfaces. We built them to sit beside the photography in the same report. The five key visuals for Munich Re Financial Markets show a ring cut from two ellipsoids. The concept came from Keller Maurer Design, the 3D production from us.

Because we are photographers first, the renderings follow the same rules as our pictures. Light, material and perspective have to hold up to a second look. Each project starts with the questions of a shoot. What does the image have to explain? Where will it appear, and what will sit next to it?
