Charlie Duke, Apollo 16 astronaut, wearing an Omega Speedmaster, portrait photography at Omega headquarters in Biel, Switzerland, by Scanderbeg Sauer

Charlie Duke for The Telegraph Magazine, UK

Charlie Duke portrait photography for The Telegraph Magazine’s lunar special on the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, produced with Omega. Charlie Duke served as CAPCOM during the mission and walked on the moon as part of the Apollo 16 crew in April 1972. At 36, the youngest person to do so. Duke is wearing an Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary limited edition. We photographed him at Omega headquarters in Biel, Switzerland.

A sitting like this runs short. We set and tested background, light and two framings before he came in, so the time went into the portrait rather than into building it. The watch had to read clearly without turning the portrait into a product shot.

Our Charlie Duke portrait photography belongs with the Omega work: new Omega building in Biel and the Vanity Fair space collection.

Part of our Corporate & Portrait work.
