Magenta pigment sample in a dish, Clariant, Höchst Industrial Park, Germany, industrial photography by Scanderbeg Sauer

Clariant, Höchst Industrial Park, Germany

Clariant has been developing methods to simplify pigment dispersion for over a decade. The Höchst Industrial Park near Frankfurt is one of the largest chemical sites in Europe. The assignment: Clariant pigment photography of product and solution highlights from the industrial coatings range, including the magenta pigment line, produced in a facility that can only run one colour. A teaspoon of the concentrate is enough to paint a car.

A site of this size runs on permits: escort, fixed routes, no access to a line at short notice. Inside the magenta facility the colour is on every surface and in the air, which is both the subject and the difficulty. In the Clariant pigment photography, the colour stayed in the picture instead of being corrected out.

We also worked for Clariant in Moosburg and across four European sites. Portrait photography and CGI visuals from the same Integrated Report are shown in two further entries.
