Audemars Piguet, Le Brassus, Switzerland

Audemars Piguet commissioned photography of the manufacturing process behind the Code 11.59 case, one of the more technically demanding components the manufacture produces. The case requires a sequence of specialised tooling and hand-finishing steps to achieve its multifaceted curved geometry. Our Code 11.59 photography for Audemars Piguet followed each stage in the production chain: from raw material to the finished surface.

The work stayed in the manufacture’s own workshops: raw blank, milling, the hand-finishing that gives the case its facets. Close range, controlled light. The tolerances the watchmakers work to had to stay visible in the picture.
