Burckhardt Compression, Ningbo, China

Industrial photography for Burckhardt Compression in Ningbo, one of China’s major industrial hubs. The assignment covered both the local BC facility and customer sites in the region, among them a CNOOC LNG terminal in Zhejiang province, where BC compressor systems are in operation. The brief was to document the technology in its actual environment: large-scale infrastructure, working conditions, no staging.

The Burckhardt Compression photography in Ningbo covered two kinds of location in one trip. At the plant, access is straightforward. At the LNG terminal it is not: every position agreed in advance, and only equipment permitted in a gas environment.
