Burckhardt Compression, Winterthur, Switzerland

Burckhardt Compression builds reciprocating compressor systems for the oil and gas, chemical, and industrial gas industries, and has done so in Winterthur for over 175 years. The assignment began as an annual report commission in the early 2010s and grew from there. Facility photography, executive portraits, production documentation. Over more than fifteen years, the brief changed shape repeatedly. New campaigns, new formats, different teams – but the visual language held.

We also photographed Burckhardt Compression in Ningbo, Shenyang, Busan and Pune. The SYCC foundry in Shenyang, where compressor components are cast on site, is documented separately.
